Government Transparency

The actions of our local government need to be more transparent for the citizens.  We deserve to know the direction the city is taking as it relates to the quality of life and growth with ample time for citizen discussion. Our current Comprehensive Plan for the City released this year,  reflects the input of only 342 of nearly 15,000 residents.  Citizen-centered government requires more involvement to reflect the voice of the people.

Going forward, Covington should adopt a more comprehensive method of handling requests for Open Records in accordance with the Open Records Act of Georgia.
